Check out the newly added information on bath salts.

It's here, it's real and it's deadly.

Tri-Dent is advising the local area of a legal substance being sold in the Illinois Valley known as “BATH SALTS”. This has become a serious problem in the Illinois Valley Area. Use of these products has resulted in violent reactions, often leading to hospitalizations and sometimes death.

Since December 2010 Tri-Dent has seen an increase in the use of a substance being sold in the Illinois Valley Area known as BATH SALTS. This substance is being used by addicts to obtain a high. Within the last few months the use of BATH SALTS has caused many serious health problems and sometimes death to the user of BATH SALTS in the Illinois Valley Area. Some areas in Illinois have had more problems with BATH SALTS. The Chief’s and Sheriff’s in Tri-
Dent are working with their City Mayors and council members to enact Ordinances on BATH SALTS. At the present time a bill has passed the Illinois House banning the chemicals in BATH
SALTS.

“BALT SALTS” although these products are marketed as bath salts or, in some case, plant food, they contain chemicals that include 3,4-Methylenedioxymethcathinone (Methylone), 3,4-
Methyenedixypyrovalerone (MDPV), 4Methymethcathinone (Mephedrone), 4methoxymethcathinone, 4-Flurormethcathinone, 3-Fluoromethcathinone. These chemicals are not found in real bath salts and are very dangerous to humans. The products are label not for human consumption. A gram of BATH SALT sells for $60-$85. Approximately the same price as illegal drugs. Officers have been told by users that the high they get from Bath Salts is better than some illegal drugs. At the present time a number of States have passed laws to place the chemicals in BATH SALT on the Schedule I.
