The Interstate Crime Enforcement (I.C.E.) Team is comprised of specially trained Agents assigned to work traffic enforcement primarily on I-80 and I-39. The team will work other non-interstate roadways from time to time if the need is warranted.
The primary purpose of the I.C.E. Team is to stop criminals in transit on our interstates. Agents in this unit are trained to recognize indicators of a driver who is involved in criminal activity at the time of the traffic stop. Crimes include trafficking of narcotics and money, stolen goods, stolen vehicles, wanted fugitives, and other felonious crimes.
The I.C.E. Team to date is responsible for the seizure of over $26000.00 of suspected drug money and various amounts of drugs. The I.C.E. Team was established in May of 2010 with the addition of the K-9 Team.
